A CASED 54-BORE TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'TRANTER'S PATENT', serial number obscured,
circa 1855, with octagonal 6in. barrel, pillar fore-sight, standing rear-sight notch to top of standing breech, plain five-shot cylinder with rope-twist border to leading edge, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame, inverted 'Y' shped safety spring, Tranter's Patent trigger cocking device (possibly retro-fitted), swept chequered walnut semi saw-handled grip with iron heel-cap and fitted with Tranter's Patent rammer to left side of barrel, the whole cleaned and darkly stained with some bruising and loss to detail, cylinder arbor lock and pin broken), complete with its manufacturer's walnut storage case compartmented and lined in green baize and including the original flask, un-numbered mould, loading rod, turn screw, oil-bottle and cast bullets
